From the moment the season 10 finale aired in May, Chicago PD fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of NBC’s hit One Chicago drama — and understandably so!

Chicago PD season 10 ended with a major cliffhanger that has left fans wondering about the future of Ruzek after he was shot in the chest during the intense final episode of the season. Fortunately, another season of the show is on the way and we’re feeling optimistic about what’s to come when season 11 finally arrives.

As the countdown continues for season 11, viewers are eagerly seeking any information they can find regarding the release updates, the show’s cast, and plot details for the season. While NBC hasn’t released too much information about the upcoming season, we’re breaking down all the latest developments and insights surrounding Chicago PD Season 11, providing fans with a comprehensive overview of what lies ahead!

Does Chicago PD season 11 have a premiere date?

NBC has yet to officially declare the release date for Season 11 of Chicago PD, but they have confirmed that the show will continue to air on Wednesday nights at 10/9c. Initially, when NBC unveiled its schedule for the Fall 2023-24 season, Chicago PD was included with the intention of starting in September. However, due to the ongoing WGA strike, it is highly probable that NBC will have to postpone the return of several scripted fall series, including its One Chicago dramas.

Whether season 11 will still premiere in 2023 or be pushed to 2024 remains uncertain, as it largely depends on the writers’ strike. We’re expecting NBC will release an updated fall schedule soon, which should provide confirmation on whether the One Chicago shows will be coming in the fall or delayed to early 2024.

Will Patrick John Flueger be in Chicago PD season 11?

Although we understand why fans are concerned over whether Patrick John Flueger will be returning for season 11 of Chicago PD, thus far there has been no announcement from NBC that the actor is leaving the show ahead of its upcoming season.

As fans will recall, in the season 10 finale, Adam was shot in the chest by Samantha Beck’s son and left for dead as Samantha and her son fled the scene of the crime. Fortunately, Voight’s team made it to Adam in time to rush him to Chicago Med where he received treatment and was expected to pull through. While we never got confirmation on Adam’s status as the season ended, photos from a deleted scene from the finale suggest that Adam will pull through.

Is there a Chicago PD season 11 trailer?

Sadly, there is not yet a trailer for the new season of Chicago PD and it’s unlikely that we’ll see a trailer released for season 11 anytime soon. Production on the new season has not yet begun and with the show’s return up in the air due to the strike, there is a chance we might not get a trailer for the season for several months.

As soon as a trailer for the season is released, we’ll be sure to update this piece to include the trailer or promo for the season.

Has Chicago PD season 11 started filming yet?

Filming for the upcoming eleventh season of Chicago PD has not begun yet, and it is unlikely that production will start anytime soon. Typically, new episodes of the show begin production around mid-to-late July. However, due to the ongoing WGA strike, production cannot commence until the strike concludes.

Many industry insiders indicate that the writers have not made significant progress in reaching a new agreement with the studios, suggesting that the strike could continue for several more weeks. There is a strong likelihood that the strike could extend throughout the summer and potentially overlap with the fall season which would delay the start of production on the season — and the show’s return to NBC with new episodes.

If the strike ends by or before August, there is a chance the One Chicago shows will be able to enter production before September which could allow them to still return in the fall. However, if the strike does carry into September and beyond, there is a strong chance the One Chicago shows might not return until early 2024.
